Dear Parents & Guardians

On behalf of the staff at Tom Price SHS I would like to say a sincere thank you to our wonderful students who have settled so well into their studies for this third term of our school year and additionally, welcome to the many new students and their families to Tom Price SHS.

We hope that after a very different and at times challenging Semester 1, due to the impact of COVID-19, that Semester 2 will be back to a more ‘normal’ setting. However, with the rapid developments and spreading of the virus in some of the Eastern States we will need to continue to be vigilant in our state, town and school.

The Tom Price SHS parent/teacher evenings are being held, face to face, on Wednesday 29th July in Tom Price and Paraburdoo on Thursday 30th July.  Thank you to the parents who have already made a booking and I encourage all parents to make a booking through the front office on 9143 8100. Additionally, we welcome your feedback at any time regarding concerns you may have about your child/children’s education.  I would also encourage you to report any inappropriate behaviour to Teachers and Administrators that may be affecting your child’s capacity to reach their educational potential, including bullying so that issues can be addressed.

On Wednesday 1st July, school photos were taken.  Many students arrived in their school uniform with their Cadet, SES and/or St John uniform to change into for official photos. Thank you to all the staff who helped out on the day and a big thank you to our well-behaved students.

We also have the School Ball coming up on the 1st of August, the Year 7 Camp has been rebooked for the week commencing 31st August, OLNA testing for all Year 9 students, (due to NAPLAN being cancelled this year) as well as students in Years 10 to 12 who are Category 1 or 2 in any of the three tests.

Finally, to all of the staff, students and families, I extend my gratitude for a fantastic start to Term 3.

Kind regards,

Andrew Jack
