Teen Mental Health First Aid – Year 10

Dear Parent/Guardian

Tom Price Senior High School will be conducting a 3.5-hour Teen Mental Health First Aid course for Year 10 students this term.

This is a fantastic opportunity for students to gain information and skills to assist and support their peers. Students completing the three sessions of the course will receive a certificate of completion which can be added to their portfolios.

The course is being delivered by Department of Education School Psychologists specifically trained as teen instructors. The course will run over three sessions during the first period (8am – 9:15am) on either a Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday during Weeks 3, 4, and 5. Students will be asked to answer a short survey at the completion of this course. These questions will help us to measure learning outcomes.

The course is NOT compulsory and parents/guardians may contact Annette Wilson on 9188 3650 to discuss the program or withdraw their student.

More information and details are provided on the attached sheet.

Thank you for being a part of Tom Price Senior High School’s cooperative approach to addressing mental health and wellbeing.

Kind Regards,

Andrew Jack

Principal
